Equestrian Competes in Hunter Seat and Western Shows in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Wilmington College equestrian team competed in two events over the weekend including a Hunter Seat Show at The Ohio State University and Western Regionals.

In the hunter seat show, Carly Murdick highlighted the Fightin' Quakers' individual performances with a second-place finish in the walk/trot/canter division while Mikal Porter placed third in the over fences. Rounding out Wilmington competitors in the event was Kade Abney's fifth and sixth-place finishes and Joe Schmidt's fourth and fifth-place finishes in the walk, trot & canter division.

At Western regionals, Porter, Miranda Roesel and Victoria Taylor all finished second and qualified for semifinals, open horsemanship, intermediate II and novice divisions respectively.

Other competitors for Wilmington at the event included: Kendra Nelson, Sarah Gigandet, Kaitie Hodges and Madison McConn.

Porter, Roesel and Taylor will compete in semifinal qualifiers on March 15-17.
