Women's Swimming leads Academic OAC Contingent

AUSTINTOWN – The Wilmington College women’s swimming team represented nearly half of the school’s Ohio Athletic Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll selections, the league announced today (March 17, 2015).

The award winners must be at least sophomore status or higher, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.

The women’s swimming team had a school-high six representatives as Wilmington recorded 13 of the 105 conference-wide honorees.

Junior Haley Rowland (Fairborn, OH/Xenia Christian) recorded the lone 4.0 GPA. The Education/Spanish major was joined by teammates Addie Roberts (Franklin, OH/Franklin; 3.71, Athletic Training), junior Rachel Routzong (Urbana, OH/Urbana; 3.69, Agriculture/Economic), Jenny Geers (Pickerington, OH/North; 3.97, Education), Rachel Drake (Fairfield, OH/Fairfield; 3.90, Athletic Training) and Elyse Spraul (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame; 3.82, Business Administration).

The men’s swimming team had three representatives led by senior Eric Balash (Canton, OH/Glen Oak), who registered a 3.83 GPA in Athletic Training. David Hawk (Edison, OH/Mount Gilead; 3.59, Chemistry) and Dylan Hammond (Eastlake, OH/North; 3.54, History) also joined the honor roll from the men’s swimming team.

Senior Kirsten Glick (Arcadia, OH/Arcadia), who is graduating after just three years with a 3.73 GPA in agriculture, is one of three members of the women’s basketball team on the honor roll. She is joined by Mary Moyer (Martinsville, OH/Clinton-Massie; 3.75, Sport Management-Wellness) and Hannah Haeseker (Germantown, OH/Valley View; 3.52, Athletic Training).

Senior Ben McGriff (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek) is the lone member of the men’s basketball team on the honor roll, posting a 3.62 GPA in Business Administration/Sport Management.
