SERIES HISTORY

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College volleyball team continues non-conference play as the Fightin' Quakers host Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ) for a 7 p.m. contest on Tuesday evening.

The Teams: Wilmington and MSJ. The Quakers are 1-6 on the season after notching their first victory of 2018 over Boyce College 3-2 at the Quaker Classic hosted by Earlham College last weekend. The Lions are 3-2 overall after finishing a tournament at Kenyon College 1-2.

The Coaches: Tim O'Brien enters his fourth year as Wilmington's head volleyball coach. He has improved the Quakers' wins total each of his first three seasons and is looking to break through in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) this season. A 2012 graduate of Siena Heights University, O'Brien was a four-year letter-winner for the Saints' men's volleyball team and ranks in seven career and seasonal program records. Abby Smith, a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, is in her second season leading MSJ.

The Players: Jillian Wesco and Mariella Szrom lead the Wilmington attack in 2018 has the two have combined for 84 kills through seven matches. Wesco leads the team in kills with 54 while Szrom has a .156 attack percentage. Jacie Koontz and Grace Ewing have combined to dish out 110 of Wilmington's 175 assists as a team while Karley Schlensker averages 4.81 digs per set. Cailey Plemmons and Briana Looney both average over 3.25 kills per set for MSJ. Sydney Wilzbach averages over 10 assists per set.

First Time Around: Wilmington fell to MSJ in straight sets (25-15, 25-16, 25-18) at Mount St. Joseph on Sept. 1.
