Otterbein sweeps past @DubC_Volleyball

WESTERVILLE – The Wilmington College volleyball team fell in straight sets to Otterbein (25-13, 25-7, 25-21), a team receiving votes in the AVCA poll, in Ohio Athletic Conference action Tuesday at the Rike Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Freshmen Taylor McCuiston (Troy, OH/Miami East) and Ariel Goforth (Memphis, TN/Barlett) finished with six kills each to lead the Fightin' Quakers. Freshman Jillian Wesco (Troy, OH/Miami East) added five kills in the loss.
  • Sophomore Morgan Householder (Somerset, OH/Sheridan) registered a team-high 12 digs.
  • Sophomore Summer Wilbur (Manchester, OH/Manchester) distributed 10 assists, while freshman Alyssa McKenzie (Adrian, MI/Adrian) added eight assists for Wilmington.
  • Wesco and Goforth each recorded a block assists in the three-set match.
  • Wilmington hit .152 in the third set after posting negative hitting percentages in the first two sets.

WHAT'S NEXT

Wilmington (4-16 overall, 0-4 OAC) travels to Marietta (9-13 overall, 1-3 OAC) 1 p.m. Saturday for another conference match.
