Spring Senior Salute - Women's Track & Field's Keva Cox

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Throughout the coming months, the Wilmington College athletics department will be highlighting senior student-athletes who had their senior seasons cut short due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Today's senior salute is Keva Cox. A four-year member of the women's track & field team, Cox competed in jumps for the Fightin' Quakers. This season, at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships, she narrowly missed scoring with a mark of 4' 11 1/2" and a ninth-place finish.

What is your major? - I am an animal science major.

What is your favorite class at Wilmington College? - Photography. Capturing photos is a hobby of mine.

What is your favorite memory with the women's track & field program? - My favorite memory within my program was working at the college farm with some of my friends freshman year.

What are your plans after graduation? - My plan after graduation is to obtain a job in the agricultural industry.

Do you see yourself returning to Wilmington to compete in 2021? - I do not see myself coming back to compete.

What is your message to underclassmen on the impact of COVID-19? - Give every day your all because you're not guaranteed a whole season. Work hard and give your best effort no matter the day or the circumstance. You should end every day satisfied with the work you put in, and bettering yourself should be your end goal. Support your teammates along the way. You never know how much it means to them.
