Women's Track & Field Heads to Wittenberg for Indoor Opener Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track and field team opens its indoor season at Wittenberg University on Friday evening. Field events are slated to begin at 4 p.m. while track events are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host Wittenberg University along with the following schools – Thomas More University, Central State University, the University of Rio Grande, Ohio Wesleyan University, Kenyon College and Mount St. Joseph University.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 22nd season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Emma Burke, who competed and placed in the hurdle events at the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships, is scheduled to run in those events to open her senior season on Friday. Kayli Sullivan and Keva Cox are slated to perform in throwing events while two freshman, Sydney Yontz and Milena Wahl, the Fightin' Quakers' top cross country runners, will run in distance events.
