Women's Track and Field Ninth After First Day

ADA, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's outdoor track and field team competed in day one of the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship Meet on Friday. After day one of competition, the Fightin' Quakers sit in ninth place with eight points, with one more day of competition remaining.

In the field events for the afternoon, Lauren Stacy placed second in the discus throw with a toss of 40.95 meters. In the long jump, Lisa Bailey earned ninth-place with a distance of 4.94 meters.

On the track, Emma Burke was the only Quaker to break into the top-10. She finished just out of reach of finals in both the 100-meter hurdles (10th, 16.37) and the 400-meter hurdles (9th, 1:06.53).

The remaining events will be contested tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m.
