Women's Track and Field Heads to Two Locations This Weekend

WILMINGTON, Ohio- The Wilmington College women's outdoor track and field team will compete in two locations this weekend. The majority of the team will head to the Mount Saint Joseph Invitational hosted by Mount Saint Joseph University on Saturday, April 21. Competition is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

Lauren Stacy will be representing the Fightin' Quakers on Friday, April 20 at the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State University. Competition for this event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: Coming off a successful weekend and traveling to Mount Saint Joseph University are Emma Burke and Kayli Sullivan. Burke leads the team in the hurdling events, having placed top-six in the 100-meter hurdles at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend. Sullivan backs Stacy in the throwing events but will look to lead the team in Stacy's absence at Mount Saint Joseph this weekend.

Traveling to Jesse Owens is Lauren Stacy who will compete in the throwing events.
