ADA, Ohio – Wilmington College women's track & field senior Lauren Stacy finished in the top three of two events at the Polar Bear Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern University on Saturday.
Stacy's hurl of 17.02 meters (55' 10 ¼") in the weight throw finished less than a foot behind Madison Haasz who won the event. In the shot put, Stacy finished third with a throw of 12.85 meters (42' 2").
Stacy currently 15th in the nation in the weight throw. The official field for the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Birmingham, Alabama, will be announced on Monday at 9 a.m. For the men's weight throw, the top 17 marks will qualify for the national meet.
