Women's Track and Field Travels to Cedarville Invitational

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College (WC) women's track and field team travels to Cedarville University at 3 p.m. on Friday to compete in the Cedarville Invitational.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host Cedarville University and Shawnee State, Oberlin College, Tennessee Wesleyan, University of Findlay, Georgetown College, the University of Cincinnati Running Club, Brick City, Home Street, Greendale, and Berea College.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: Lauren Stacey is seeded first in the weight throw with a distance of 17.33-meters, over 1.5-meters ahead of the competition. In the long jump, Lisa Bailey sits tied for fourth. The 4-x-400-meter relay consisting of Emma Burke, Miranda Gibson, McKenzie Hamm, and Bailey is currently seeded third with a time of 4:25.00. In addition to her high relay seed, Burke is ranked fourth in the 60-meter hurdles.
