Women's Track and Field Travels to Marietta

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College (WC) women's track and field team picks their season back up after the holiday break with an invitational hosted by Marietta College at 11 a.m. Saturday.  

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host and fellow Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) member Marietta College. Non-conference competitors will include Glenville State, Alderson Broaddus, and Ohio Valley.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Runners to Watch: Emma Burke is looking to turn heads in the 400-meter dash. She is currently seeded fourth. Cross Country stand out, McKenzie Hamm will take to the track tomorrow, competing in the distance events for the Fightin' Quakers.

WC Field Events to Watch: In the pole vault, Ryan Allen is seeded first. Lauren Stacy, one of the top returning throwers in the OAC sits first in both the weight throw and shot put.
