Stacy turns in highest finishes for @DubC_XCTR at Twilight

WESTERVILLE- The Wilmington College women's track and field team competed in their last meet before the championship season, the Twilight Invitational hosted by Otterbein University on Friday evening. Out of the twelve competing teams, the Fightin' Quakers finished sixth with 69 points. 


HOW IT HAPPENED

-Junior Lauren Stacy (Bethel, OH/Western Brown) took home first in both the shot-put (12.79m) and the hammer throw (45.53m). Stacy also earned a third-place finish in the discus throw (39.10m).

-Freshman Emma Burke (Hilliard, OH/Darby) snagged a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.36. Junior teammate Ashley Lovett crossed the finish line immediately after with a time of 1:09.92 to earn third.

-Burke also turned in a top-five finish in the 100-meter hurdles. Her time of 15.77 earned third. 

-Sophomore Sarah Pierce (New Carlisle, OH/Dominion Academy) claimed another third-place finish for the team, hers in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a season best time of 13:23.19.

-In the triple jump, sophomore Cierra Johnson (Cincinnati, OH/Fairfield) achieved third, as well, with a jump of 10.19-meters. Senior teammate Angela Dorsett (Pittsburgh, PA/West Mifflin) finished fifth in the same event with a jump of 10.04-meters. 

 

WHAT'S NEXT

-The Fightin' Quakers head to the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championship meet, hosted by Muskingum University, on Friday.
