@DubC_XCTR women open season with Tiffin Alumni Open

TIFFIN-  The Wilmington College women's track and field team opened the indoor portion of their season Saturday at the Tiffin Alumni Open. This unscored meet allowed the opportunity for the Fightin' Quakers to compete against various NCAA Division II schools, unattached athletes, as well as fellow OAC schools.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Fightin' Quakers opened the meet with a bang, clenching first-place in the 4000m Distance Medley Relay with a time of 15:06.84.

  • Freshman Kacey Burns (Milford Center, OH/Fairbanks) clocked in with a 2:35.37 in the women's 800-meter race. This time secured her fifth-place overall.

  • In the women's 1000-meters, freshman Allison Helmke (Defiance, OH/Tinora) earned fifth-place with a time of 3:38.31.

  • Senior Stephanie Fetters (West Milton, OH/Milton-Union) clocked in for fifth-place in the women's 3000-meters with at time of 12:13.90. 

  • Senior Angela Dorsett (Pittsburgh, PA/West Mifflin) also brought home a high finish for the Fightin' Quakers. Dorsett earned fifth-place in the women's triple jump by going a distance of 9.69 meters.

  • Lauren Stacy rounded out the high finishes for the team at the invitational. She competed in the shot put for the women and achieved fourth-place in the field with a put of 12.53 meters. Stacy also finished sixth overall in the weight throw (15.49 meters).

WHAT'S NEXT

  • The Fightin' Quakers return to competition 11 AM January 14 with an invitational at Otterbein University.
