Women's Swimming in Fifth After Day One of Ohio Wesleyan Invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's swimming team stands in fifth place after day one of the Corbiere-Merion Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday.

The Fightin' Quakers accumulated 200 points and sit ahead of both Manchester University and Urbana University. Host Ohio Wesleyan leads the invitational with 669 points.

Individually, Wilmington had two top-eight finishes on Saturday with Macki Leon finishing fourth in the 200-yard IM (2:25.17) and Rebecca Curran placing eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.10).

All three Wilmington relay teams – 200-yard medley, 400-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle – recorded top-eight finishes. Leon, Curran, Hannah Davis and Maryn Herring took seventh in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:03.07 while Margaret Hover took Curran's place in the Quakers' fifth place squad in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:58.22). Hover, Herr, Davis and Rachel O'Donnell finished in eighth place in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:59.91.

The final day of the invitational is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Sunday).
