Kruczynski wins three races for WC

Senior Caroline Kruczynski won three of Wilmington's five races Saturday as the Fightin' Quakers fell to Baldwin Wallace, 109-95, in Ohio Athletic Conference action at the Wilmington Natatorium.

"For Caroline as a senior, to be able to step up and have a couple great swims early on, shows where she is and where she is going to be able to go," said Wilmington head coach Trip Breen.

Kruczynski won the 50 freestyle (29:59), the 100 freestyle (1:05.01), and then team with sophomore Haley Rowland (Fairborn, OH/Xenia Christian), junior Colleen Rueppel (Weybridge, VT/Manheim (PA)) and junior Rachel Routzong (Urbana, OH/Urbana) to win the 200 freestyle relay (2:04.13).

Senior Addie Roberts (Franklin, OH/Franklin) was victorious in the 800 freestyle with the time of (10:35.64).

"Addie has been so consistent over the last three years, and as a senior it's fun to watch her step up and really lead this team," said Breen.

Junior Rachel Drake (Franklin, OH/Franklin) won the 100 breaststroke (1:22.58).

"I made a comment to the parents, and to (assistant coaches) Paula (Stewart) and Kenny (Holter), that the first meet is a little tricky," said Breen. "We have a lot of anxiety. This team really swam well across the board. It's great anxiety didn't dictate how we did. It's fun to have great swims."
