WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team opens the final week of its regular season with a Wednesday evening contest with Muskingum University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Fightin' Quakers enter the matchup with an even 8-8-0 record as well as a 2-5-0 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contests after a 3-0 victory The University of Mount Union on the road on Saturday. THe Fighting Muskies are 2-11-3 and looking to snap a nine-game losing skid. Muskingum's last win was a 4-2 triumph at Bluffton University on Sept. 17.

The Coaches: Nick Kinder, a 2010 alumnus and four-year member of the men's soccer program, enters his first year as head women's soccer coach. He has spent the last four seasons as the program's top assistant coach including the last six weeks leading the program on an interim basis following the retirement of 30-year Head Coach Steve Spirk. He is just the fifth head coach in the 37-year history of the program as a varsity sport. Dani Gunderson, who also serves as Muskingum's Senior Woman Administrator, is in her second season the Muskies' head women's soccer coach.

The Players: Freshman Alex Wilson, who is coming off a hat trick against Mount Union on Saturday, leads the team in scoring with nine goals. Fellow freshman Shannon Jamieson has netted five goals and assisted on five other seniors Elizabeth Matthews and Maddie Scott have both scored four times. The Quaker defense, anchored by goalkeeper Lauren Galloway, surrender 1.14 goals per game. Morgan Meisel has scored five goals to lead Muskingum while Britney Herrick has three. Both Madison Yenke and Hanna Richie have dished out two assists.

Series History: Wilmington is 25-1-1 against Muskingum since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
