WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play on Wednesday with a home game against Ohio Northern University on Wednsday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Ohio Northern (ONU). The Fightin' Quakers enter the game with an even 7-7-0 record having notched their first conference on Saturday with a 4-0 shutout of Marietta College on the road. The Polar Bears are 8-1-4 and 3-0-2 in OAC games after a 5-0 victory over John Carroll University at home on Saturday. 

The Coaches: Nick Kinder, a 2010 alumnus and four-year member of the men's soccer program, enters his first year as head women's soccer coach. He has spent the last four seasons as the program's top assistant coach including the last six weeks leading the program on an interim basis following the retirement of 30-year Head Coach Steve Spirk. He is just the fifth head coach in the 37-year history of the program as a varsity sport. Mark Batman, a Wilmington alumnus, is in his 19th season as ONU's head women's soccer coach.

The Players: A trio of Quakers - Shannon Jamieson, Alex Wilson and Elizabeth Matthews - have tallied double digits in points on the season. The pair of freshmen, Wilson and Jamieson, lead the squad in goals (6) and assists (5) respectively. Defensively, goalkeeper Lauren Galloway surrenders 1.16 goals per game and has five shutouts to her credit. Alyssa Beckett has six goals and 13 points for the ONU offense while Emma Bowman has dished out five assists. The Polar Bear defense, anchored by goalkeeper Becky Moss, allows 0.62 goals per game.

Series History: Wilmington is 7-19-1 against ONU since the 1994 season. The Polar Bears have shutout the Quakers the last six meetings. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
