Heidelberg outlasts Wilmington, 1-0
The Wilmington College women's soccer team competed in their last match of the 2017 regular season Saturday afternoon. Throughout the course of the 90-minute match, the Fightin' Quakers were able to tally a total of 18 shots--to Heidelberg's seven--12 of which were on goal. Only six of the 18 shots were taken during the first half, the remaining 12 in the second-half. Despite this second half surge in shots taken, the Fightin' Quakers were unable to best Heidelberg and lost 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • All but three Fightin' Quaker field players were able to make their way to the goal and take a shot this afternoon. Sophomore Alex Vestal (Orlando, FL/Lake Nona) led the charge, taking a total of three shots, one of which was in frame.
