The Wilmington College women's soccer team found its scoring mojo Saturday as the Fightin' Quakers upended Manchester, 8-0, Saturday in non-conference action on Townsend Field in Williams Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• It was the largest shutout victory since the Fightin' Quakers beat Anderson, 10-0, in 2012.
• Junior Hannah Greaney (Dayton, OH/Carroll) scored both of her goals on free kicks, while senior Ashley Lovett (Washington Court House, OH/Senior) added a pair of goals in the victory.
• Six different players – Greaney, Lovett, senior Haley Brausch (Clarksville, OH/Clinton-Massie), junior Kaitlin Evans (Leesburg, OH/Leesburg Fairfield), junior Taylor Thompson (Canal Winchester, OH/Canal Winchester) and junior Sarah Pierce (New Carlisle, OH/Dominion Academy) - tallied goals for Wilmington.
• Wilmington launched 23 of the 24 first-half shots, and finished with a 39-3 advantage in shots. The Fightin' Quakers finished with 20 shots on goal, and held MU to just three shots on goal.
• WC tallied three goals in the first half, and five goals in the second half.

COACHES CORNER

• "I think (the goal scoring) was the most satisfying thing about today's win," said head coach Steve Spirk. "We played well in the first three games; we just haven't been able to score goals. We scored early, and what I told them pregame, was to try to score early and often."
• "We figured out we could attack (Manchester) and we talked about not just playing the ball forward, but possessing the ball, switching the field and creating opportunities for each other, and we did that," said Spirk.
• "Our back four has played extremely well the last few games," Spirk added. "The defense was solid, our midfield was good, and we got some goals from our forwards."
