NEW CONCORD – The Wilmington College women's soccer team got goals from three separate players in recording their first Ohio Athletic Conference victory of the season, beating Muskingum, 3-1, Wednesday at McConagha Stadium.

WC was without head coach Steve Spirk, who missed the game while dealing with a personal family matter. Assistant coach Bob Dessecker served as the interim coach.

Wilmington dominated the offensive attack, launching 32 shots with 12 of which being on frame.

The Fightin' Quakers took the lead as junior Ashley Lovett (Washington Court House, OH/Senior) tallied an unassisted goal in the 27th minute. It was her team-leading seventh goal on the season.

However, the lead didn't last long as the host Muskies found the equalizer in the 34th minute. The teams went into the break tie.

Senior Taylor Scott (Lynchburg, OH/Lynchburg Clay) scored her second goal of the season, giving WC the lead in the 51st minute. Sophomore Katie Evans (Leesburg, OH/Leesburg Fairfield) recorded the assist on the play.

Less than five minutes later, Wilmington picked up an insurance goal as freshman Haley Burge (Clarks Hill, IN/McCutcheon) found the back of the net for the first time in her collegiate career.

Freshman Leda Moyer (Martinsville, OH/Clinton Massie) picked up her second win of the season, pitching a shutout in the second half with one save. Junior Ana Hosler (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) played the first 45 minutes, allowing one goal with four saves.

Wilmington (6-6-4 overall, 1-5-2 OAC) travels to Heidelberg for the season finale 1 p.m. Saturday.
