Women's Soccer falls to Purple Raiders

ALLIANCE – The Wilmington College women's soccer team fell to Mount Union Saturday, 4-0, in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Wilmington falls to 6-11 overall, 0-7 in the OAC, while Mount Union improved 11-5 overall, 4-3 in the OAC. With the loss, the Fightin' Quakers are officially eliminated from OAC tournament contention.

The Purple Raiders took the lead with a goal in fourth minute, and added another first half goal in the 22nd minute. Both goals were allowed by senior Taylor Franklin (Delaware, OH/Rutherford B. Hayes), who made four saves in the first half.

Freshman Ana Hosler (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) took over in the second half, and allowed a goal just two minutes into the half. Mount Union added its fourth goal in the 67th minute.

Senior Caroline Guindon (Barnesville, OH/St. Clairsville) and sophomore Taylor Scott (Lynchburg, OH/Lynchburg-Clay) each had two shots on goal for Wilmington.

Mount Union had the advantage in shots (17-13) and shots on goal (10-9). The Fightin' Quakers had four corner kicks to Mount Union's one.

Wilmington returns to Williams Stadium to host Muskingum 7 p.m. Wednesday.
