NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team outscored Muskingum University 11-6 in the second half, but the Fightin' Quakers comeback fell just short in a 17-13 loss to the Fighting Muskies in the season finale for both teams on Saturday.

The first half was a defensive struggle for the Quakers allowing 11 goals and scored just two. Wilmington's goals came from Rachel Reinhart early in the period and the second came from Becca Petra with 9:11 left in the first.

Wilmington's second half was a big turn around on the offensive side of the ball. Petra had a big game scoring six goals in the second half. Hannah Gratsch opened up the period with a score just over two minutes into the half. Gratsch was able to add another goal while Reinhard finished off the half with two straight goals. Wilmington was unable to come back from the large first-half deficit but made it very competitive winning the second half 11-6. Muskingum was able to hang on for the win with a score of 17-13.

Petra led all scorers with seven goals and added one assist. Reinhart scored a hat trick on the night while Gratsch put in two goals and Kelly Angevine netted one. Abby Englehart totaled seven ground balls while Megan Wieloch finished with 12 saves on 29 shots.

Wilmington finishes its 2018 season with a record of 2-14 overall on the season and 0-8 in OAC play.
