Women's Lacrosse Heads to Muskingum for Season Finale Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team concludes its 2018 season with an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Muskingum University at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Fightin' Quakers are 2-13 overall and in search of their first OAC victory after a 24-1 loss at the hands of Capital University on Wednesday. The Fighting Muskies are also 2-13 overall and winless in the OAC after a 22-1 loss to the University of Mount Union last weekend.

The Coaches: Taylor Martin is at the helm of the Wilmington women's lacrosse program in her first season. Martin spent her last two years as a graduate assistant at Castleton University where she received her master's degree in athletic leadership. Martin competed for Berry College and started all four years as the goalie. Madison Carroll is in her first season as head women's lacrosse coach at Muskingum after serving as Oberlin College's assistant coach last season.

The Players: Wilmington's offense has been led by Becca Petra so far this season. On the season, Petra has scored 26 goals and eight assists. Rachel Reinhart has accumulated 17 points this season, scoring 13 goals and four assists. Defensively, Wilmington is led by goalie Meghan Wieloch who has picked up 203 saves on the season while Hannah Gratsch and Abby Engelhart have picked up 40 and 39 ground balls respectively. Ashley Adam and Kaeleight Norvet have combined to score 59 of Muskingum's 104 goals on the season accounting for nearly 57 percent of the Muskies' offense.

Series History: Wilmington is 1-2 against Muskingum in the last three years. The Quakers did win the last meeting in New Concord, however – a 14-4 triumph on April 18, 2015. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the links above.
