Angevine Scores Twice in Women's Lacrosse Loss to Otterbein

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Otterbein University converted on 12-of-20 free positions shots in a 22-2 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) victory over the Wilmington College women's lacrosse team on Wednesday evening.

Otterbein scored the first six goals of the game before Kelly Angevine stopped the run with a goal unassisted at the 16:24 mark of the first half. The Cardinals answered the final nine goals of the first half including six of those goals coming on free position shots.

Angevine opened the second half with a successful clear and goal 54 seconds into the period. Otterbein (7-7, 3-2 OAC) answered with four goals over the next seven minutes to put the game out of reach.

Otterbein held a 40-4 edge in shots as well as a 23-14 advantage in ground balls. The Cardinals also won 24-of-26 draw controls in the game.

Individually, Angevine scored twice with Ella Young grabbing three ground balls. Kadie Grundey stopped 6-of-11 shots in the final 23:47 for the Quakers in net. Abbey Smoot led Otterbein with six goals while Julia Karas found the back of the net five times.

Wilmington (2-10, 0-5 OAC) travels to Heidelberg University for a 6 p.m. contest with the Student Princes on Friday.
