Three score in @DubC_WLAX loss

BEXLEY – Three different players scored as the Wilmington College women's lacrosse team lost to Capital, 17-3, Wednesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Bernlohr Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Capital scored the first 10 goals of the game before freshman Clara Blaine (Lebanon, OH/Lebanon) tallied the first WC goal of the game. Wilmington trailed 13-1 at halftime.
  • Junior Abby Englehart (Westerville, OH/North) and freshman Rachel Reinhart (Hilliard, OH/Davidson) tallied goals in the second half. Junior Becca Petra (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota East) recorded an assist.
  • Petra led the team with four caused turnovers, while Englehart, Blaine and junior Megan Wieloch (Canton, MI/Plymouth) had three ground balls.
  • After taking 23 shots in the first half, Capital only took eight in the second. Wilmington had three shots in each half.

WHAT'S NEXT

Wilmington concludes the season with a home game against Muskingum 1 p.m. Saturday. It will mark senior day for Carmen Watson-Stuckey, Whitney Brofford, and Kayla Ogan.
