@DubC_WLAX falls to Hanover

The Wilmington College Fightin' Quakers Women's Lacrosse team took on the Hanover Panthers in Hanover, IN this evening.  Wilmington lost to Hanover by a score of 12-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED

•       Hanover came out strong in the first period totaling 14 shots and scoring on five goals.  Out of those five goals Hanover's top offensive threat on the night, Maddy Jones, scored two goals before assisting on two more in the second period. Wilmington's two goal scorers in the first period were junior Becca Petra (Liberty Township/Lakota East), and freshman Rachel Reinhart (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson).
•       In the second period Hanover again, was able to score seven additional goals adding to the lead and ultimately winning the game by a score of 12-4.  Wilmington was able to score two goals in the second period coming from Petra and junior Kelly Angevine (Reading, OH/Reading).
•       The top performers of the evening for Wilmington were Petra with two goals on four shots and four ground balls, Reinhart adding one goal as well as Angevine.

•       "While it was tough losing our second game of the year there were some positives that came from this game," said Galloway. 
•       "Becca Petra had a great offensive night and defensively Bethany Carls did a nice job in the net.  We still have plenty of work to do, but the work we have put in so far is showing," said Gaolloway.

Wilmington (0-2) returns to action 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14th, competing at Randolph (0-3) in non-conference action.
