Petra accounts for five goals in @DubC_WLax loss

ANGOLA, IN - The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team lost in their first match of the season against Trine University by a score of 20-10, under first year head coach Bree Galloway.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Freshman Hannah Gratsch (Milford, OH/Milford) and junior Becca Petra (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota East) each scored three and five goals, respectively, in today's contest.
  • Freshman Rachel Brown (Lebanon, OH/Lebanon) added in two goals on five shots to assist in the scoring.
  • Trine led 9-5 at the break, and extended its lead to 11-5 in the second. The Thunder added four out of the last five goals to close the scoring.
  • Wilmington was outshot, 38-26, by the Thunder.
  • Sophomore Megan Wieloch (Canton, MI/Plymouth) finished with seven saves on 27 shots,.

Wilmington (0-1) returns to action 7 p.m. Thursday, traveling to Hanover in non-conference action.
