A season of firsts for the Wilmington College women's lacrosse team came to an end Saturday as the Fightin' Quakers lost to No. 18 Mount Union, 25-1, in Ohio Athletic Conference action on Townsend Field at Williams Stadium.

Wilmington finished the season 3-13 overall, 1-5 in the OAC. WC posted the first win in school history, and followed it up later in the year with the first OAC victory.

"It was a good season," said Wilmington head coach Brett Yenger. "We fought hard against a good team. We did some good things and forced some turnovers that resulted in a goal."

Freshman Jenni Caporale (Louisville, KY/Ballard) scored the team's lone goal with 20:56 remaining in the first half. She finished the season leading the team with 22 goals and five assists. She added two draw controls for WC.

Freshman Megan Wieloch (Canton, MI/Plymouth) made six saves in the loss. Freshman Kayla Ogan (Raymond, OH/Marysville) led the team with five caused turnovers, while junior Emily Phipps (Heath, OH/Heath) led the team with four ground balls and added two caused turnovers.
