Hiram dishes 16-4 loss to WC

HIRAM – The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team suffered a 16-4 loss Sunday to Hiram in non-conference action.

Rachel Gutowski (Petoskey, MI/Petoskey) reels off another two goals with another tremendous all-around effort from the defensive end through midfield and in attack. Sarah Watters (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) added another goal and Emilie Folkunger (Kristianstad, Sweden/Osterang Gymnasiet) put away the most impressive goal on the day with a strong drive to goal off of a deceptive spin move, which left the defender without a chance to recover.

The Quakers are building a smooth and fluid transition game using their speed through the midfield with the likes of Gutowski and Watters. The attack is improving as well with adding a decent passing game to their offensive repertoire that is a work in progress.

The Quakers return to action 4 p.m. Saturday, hosting Trine at Williams Stadium.
