Women's Basketball Hosts Capital for Senior Night on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team hosts Capital University for the final regular season game at Hermann Court on Wednesday. Tip-off for the Senior Night contest is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. The Quakers are 11-12 overall and 7-9 in OAC competition after defeating Marietta College 85-70 on Saturday. The Crusaders stand at 12-11 and are also 7-9 after falling 60-52 to Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 30th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 500 career victories. Dixie Jeffers, also Capital's Senior Woman Administrator, is in her 34th season leading the Crusaders. Capital, which claimed consecutive national championships in 1994 and 1995, has won over 700 games since Jeffers took the helm prior to the 1986-87 campaign.

The Players: A trio of Quakers – McKayla Binkley, Kennedy Lewis and Hanna Binkley – all score in double figures. McKayla Binkley leads the team in scoring (18.2 points per game) and rebounding (7.7 points per game). Kelly Noll, who scores 9.8 points per game, is second on the team in rebounding at 6.3 boards per 40 minutes. Capital also has three individuals – Emma Burns, Cassidy Bosch and Elli Wachtman – who score in double figures. Burns leads the bunch at 12.0 points per game while Regan Stonerock grabs a team-best 6.7 boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 80.0, Capital 66.7, opponents' points per game – Wilmington 74.0, Capital 60.9; field goal percentage – Wilmington 41.8, Capital 41.7; three-point percentage – Wilmington 32.0, Capital 32.2; free throw percentage – Wilmington 70.7, Capital 71.9; rebounds per game – Wilmington 42.7, Capital 37.9; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.88, Capital 0.82.

Tops in the OAC: McKayla Binkley leads the OAC in scoring at 18.2 points per game.

Scoring Offense: The Quakers are eighth in NCAA Division III in scoring offense at 79.8 points per game.

Senior Night: The game marks the final regular season home game for Kelly Noll. A brief ceremony will be held prior to tip-off.

OAC Tournament: Both Wilmington and Capital have clinched spots in the upcoming OAC Tournament. Neither team could finish anywhere between No. 4 and No. 8.
