Women's Basketball Travels to Marietta Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team travels to Marietta College in search of a series sweep on Saturday. Tip-off from Ban Johnson Arena is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. The Quakers enter the game with an even 11-11 record and a 6-9 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play after defeating Muskingum University 86-77 on Wednesday. The Pioneers are 14-8 overall and 9-6 in the conference after a thrilling 74-71 win over the University of Mount Union on Wednesday evening.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 29th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, recently won his 500th career game. Wilmington has claimed seven regular season conference championships under his guidance. Kole Vivian, who is in his third season as Marietta's head coach, led the Pioneers to their first ever NCAA Division III Tournament appearance last season.

The Players: McKayla Binkley (13.3 points per game) and Kennedy Lewis (12.7 points per game) lead Wilmington in scoring while Kelly Noll, one of the OAC's best three-point shooters, and Mackenzie Campbell both score a shade under 10 points per contest. Lewis leads the Quakers in assists per game at 4.0 while Faith Teaford is the team's top rebounder at 7.6 boards per contest. Marietta has three individuals – Shay Lett, Corrie Burkhardt and Alexis Enochs – that score between 12-14 points per game. Burkhardt leads the Pioneers in rebounding at 7.0 boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 69.9, Marietta 69.5; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 70.0, Marietta 63.8; field goal percentage – Wilmington 41.3, Marietta 41.5; three-point percentage – Wilmington 34.0, Marietta 31.8; free throw percentage – Wilmington 73.4, Marietta 68.5; rebounds per game – Wilmington 39.9, Marietta 38.9; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.88, Marietta 0.90.
