WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team looks for its third consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) victory when Ohio Northern University (ONU) comes to Hermann Court for a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Ohio Northern. The Fightin' Quakers are 9-8 on the season and 4-6 in OAC play after dispatching the University of Mount Union 67-59 on Saturday. The Polar Bears are 10-7 this season and also 4-6 on the OAC after a narrow 68-65 loss at Capital University on Saturday.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 29th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, recently won his 500th career game. Wilmington has claimed seven regular season conference championships under his guidance. Michele Durand has been ONU's head women's basketball coach for 17 seasons. The Polar Bears have won the last four OAC regular season titles under her guidance.

The Players: A quartet of Quakers – McKayla Binkley, Kelly Noll, Kennedy Lewis and Mackenzie Campbell – score between 10-14 points per game including Binkley, who scored a career-high 24 points in the win over Mount Union, leading the team at 13.6 points per contest. Faith Teaford leads the rebounding effort at 7.5 rebounds a game while Kennedy Lewis leads the OAC in assists at 4.3 per game. Jenna Dirksen is the lone Polar Bear to score in double figures at 14.6 points per game while both Emily Mescher and Tori Wyss both grab over six boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 69.9, ONU 64.9; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 69.8, ONU 59.2; field goal percentage – Wilmington 41.5, ONU 40.9; three-point percentage – Wilmington 36.0, ONU 36.0; free throw percentage – Wilmington 72.1, ONU 75.8; rebounds per game – Wilmington 41.1, ONU 39.1; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.93, ONU 0.95.

Recent History: Wilmington is 20-22 against ONU since joining the OAC prior to the 2000-01 season. The Polar Bears have won the last 12 meetings including a 75-67 comeback win in Ada on Dec. 5, 2018. More information on the series history can be found by visiting the link above.
