WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team looks to snap a three-game Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) losing skid when the Quakers travel to Muskingum University for a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday.
The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Quakers are 7-8 overall and 2-6 in the OAC after falling 84-74 at Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. The Fighting Muskies are 1-14 on the year and in search of their first OAC victory after a 66-61 loss to Heidelberg University on Saturday.
The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 29th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, recently won his 500th career game. Wilmington has claimed seven regular season conference championships under his guidance. Beth Fox, the 1998 Bluffton University graduate, is in her 15th season as Muskingum's head coach.
The Players: A quartet of Quakers – McKayla Binkley, Kelly Noll, Kennedy Lewis and Mackenzie Campbell – score between 10-13 points per game. Faith Teaford leads the rebounding efforts grabbing 7.7 boards per contest while Kennedy Lewis dishes out an OAC-best 4.4 assists per contest. Devyn Bonner leads Muskingum in both scoring (12.0 points per game) and rebounding (6.4 rebounds per game). Emily Yeager also scores in double figures for the Muskies.
