WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team heads to Bluffton University for the McDonald's Holiday Tournament this weekend.
The Tournament: Wilmington will face Wheaton College (Illinois) at noon on Friday, Dec. 28 while host Bluffton will face Waynesburg University (Pennsylvania) later that evening. The winners of both games will play for the tournament title game at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, while the losers will play in the consolation final at noon on Saturday.
The Teams: Wilmington, Wheaton, Bluffton and Waynesburg. The Quakers are 6-4 on the season and on a two-game winning streak after thrilling 65-64 win over Capital University on Dec. 19. The Thunder are 7-3 and have also won two games in a row while the Beavers and Yellow Jackets are both 3-6 on the season.
The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 29th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, recently won his 500th career game. Wilmington has claimed seven regular season conference championships under his guidance. Ken Madsen has been with Wheaton's women's basketball program for 19 years including the last nine as head coach. Chad Shutler is in his 14th season as Bluffton's head coach while Sam Jones has been at Waynesburg for 11 years.
The Players: Wilmington features a balanced scoring attack as three Quakers – Kennedy Lewis, McKayla Binkley and Kelly Noll – all average double figures in scoring while Faith Teaford, Hannah Binkley and Savannah Hooper all score between 7-9 points per game. Teaford nearly averages a double-double per game as the sophomore grabs 8.4 rebounds per contest. Noll and McKayla Binkley both grab over 4.5 rebounds as well while Kennedy Lewis dishes out a team-high 4.3 assists per game. Hannah Frazier leads the Thunder in scoring at 18.5 points per game along with being one of three Wheaton players to grab 6.3 boards per contest. TJ Mills is Bluffton's lone player to average double figures in scoring at 13.4 points per game while Andrea Orlosky leads Waynesburg in scoring (17.4 points per game) and rebounding (9.1 boards per contest).

OAC Player of the Week: Kelly Noll is the reigning OAC Player of the Week. The junior scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting in Wilmington's 79-72 win over Marietta last Saturday.
Recent History: Wilmington is 1-0 against Wheaton and 19-5 against Bluffton since becoming a member of NCAA Division III prior to the 1991-92 season. The Quakers have yet to play Waynesburg during that stretch. More information on the series history can be found by visiting the link above.
