ALLIANCE, Ohio - The University of Mount Union duo of Tori Rappach and Rachel Tinkey scored 47 points in a 76-66 victory over the Wilmington College women's basketball team in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Mount Union jumped out to a 14-4 lead midway through the second quarter, but Wilmington answered with a 21-10 run spanning just over 10 minutes to take a 25-24 lead on two Kennedy Lewis free throws with 3:17 remaining in the second quarter.

The hosts led by two (30-28) at the break, and neither team led by more than two possession in the entire third quarter. The Purple Raiders led 54-49 after three and went up 63-52 on a Rappach triple with 7:14 to play in regulation. Two Lewis free throws at the 4:16 mark made the score 64-62, but three-point plays on consecutive possession, one old-fashioned from Jaime Sanborn and the other a triple from Rappach, pushed the hosts advantage back to eight points and would seal the victory.

Mount Union finished shooting 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the field compared to 21-of-59 (45.5 percent) for Wilmington. Both teams connected on 10 triples in the contest.

Rappach led all scorers with 28 points including shooting 9-of-13 from beyond the three-point arc. Tinkey added 19 points for Mount Union while Sanborn had nine.

Lewis finished with 19 for Wilmington while McKayla Binkley turned in 16 points to go along with four assists. Twin sister Hannah Binkley added 13 points for the Quakers off the bench.

Wilmington (4-4, 0-3 OAC) hosts Marietta College next Saturday. Tip-off from Hermann Court is slated for 3 p.m.
