Women's Basketball Earns Spot on WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll

LIBURN, Georgia – The Wilmington College women's basketball team appeared on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Honor Roll, released by the organization on Aug. 1.

"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew.  "The 119 teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Lady Quaker Basketball finished the 2017-18 academic year with a cumulative team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.551. Only 24 NCAA Division III teams finished with a higher cumulative team GPA than Wilmington with Emerson College earning the top spot with a 3.712 cumulative team GPA. Baldwin Wallace University joined Wilmington to represent the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contingent on the Academic Top 25 Honor Roll.

Wilmington finished its 2017-18 campaign with an 11-15 overall record and a berth in the OAC Tournament for the 18th consecutive season.
