WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's basketball team was held to 25.9 percent shooting (15-of-58) from the floor in a 63-45 loss at Otterbein University in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action on Wednesday evening.

Savannah Hooper scored the game's first basket nearly three minutes into the game off a pass from Mackenzie Campbell. Otterbein scored the next seven points, however, and after an Emily Harman layup at the 3:25 mark of the first quarter, Wilmington went cold from the field and found itself trailing 15-6 after 10 minutes.

Similar to the first quarter, the Fightin' Quakers scored first in the second as a Brooke Davis triple cut the deficit to 15-9 a minute in, but the Cardinals scored the next six points to grow their lead to double digits. A Kelly Noll layup got Wilmington back within 10 (21-11) midway through the second quarter, but the visitors could get no closer as the hosts led 33-19 at halftime.

Wilmington would get the deficit to single digits on a Hannah Binkley layup with 2:14 to play in the third quarter, but an 8-0 run from Otterbein that followed sealed the victory.

Otterbein shot 25-of-60 (41.7 percent) from the field compared to Wilmington's nearly 26 percent. The Quakers did make two more three-pointers with the Cardinals holding a free throw edge at the charity stripe. The visitors did win the battle of the boards 48-35, but committed 16 turnovers compared to just eight for Otterbein.

Individually, Harman led the Quakers with a dozen points and nine rebounds while Hannah Binkley had nine points off the bench. Hooper added five points, four rebounds and four assists.

Ali Cartnal led all scorers with 17 points for Otterbein. Delaney Cutteridge also scored in double figures.

Wilmington (11-11, 6-9 OAC) hosts Marietta College on Saturday. Tip-off from Fred Raizk Arena is slated for 3 p.m.
