Women's Basketball Looks to Bounce Back at Baldwin Wallace on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play on Saturday when the Fightin' Quakers travel to Baldwin Wallace University (BW) for a 3 p.m. game with the Yellow Jackets.

The Teams: Wilmington and BW. The Quakers are 7-5 overall, 2-3 in OAC play and looking to rebound after a 61-35 loss at the hands of Capital University on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets are also 7-5 overall, but boast a 3-2 conference mark after a 73-65 win over the University of Mount Union on Wednesday.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 28th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 450 career victories. Shari Harrer is also in her 28th season as head coach at Baldwin Wallace. She has over 500 victories to her name and has won eight OAC regular season championships.

The Players: Mackenzie Campbell leads the Quakers in scoring at 14.2 points per game while also grabbing 6.6 rebounds and dishing out 2.8 assists per contest. Emily Harman leads the squad in rebounding at 6.8 boards per contest while McKayla Binkley and Savannah Hooper both score over 7.0 points per game. Hannah Fecht leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring (10.0 points per game) and rebounding (6.6 boards per contest).

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 66.7, BW 65.1; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 67.3, BW 58.4; field goal percentage – Wilmington 41.1, BW 39.4; three-point percentage – Wilmington 32.2, BW 35.2; free throw percentage – Wilmington 77.5, BW 67.7; rebounds per game – Wilmington 42.1, BW 40.4; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.69, BW  0.75.

Recent History: Wilmington is 7-17 against BW in the last decade. After the home team won both matchups in the regular season last year, the Quakers edged the Yellow Jackets 62-59 in the OAC Tournament semifinals in Berea. 1,000-Point Club: Mackenzie Campbell became the 13th women's basketball player to score 1000 career points as she crossed the plateau against Capital University on Wednesday.
