Women's Basketballs Hosts Capital on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team picks up Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play on Wednesday with Capital University comes to Hermann Court for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. The Fightin' Quakers finished the 2017 portion of its season with a 7-4 overall record and a 2-2 mark in OAC play. The Crusaders are 5-6 overall and 1-3 in conference. Capital is coming off a 65-47 loss to Kenyon College while Wilmington most recently defeated Mount St. Joseph University 62-51.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 28th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 450 career victories. Dixie Jeffers has been Capital's head women's basketball coach since the 1986-87 season. She led the Crusaders to consecutive national championships 1994 and 1995.

The Players: Mackenzie Campbell leads the Quakers in scoring at 14.7 points per game while also grabbing 6.8 rebounds and dishing out 2.8 assists per contest. Emily Harman leads the squad in rebounding at 7.1 boards per contest while McKayla Binkley, Savannah Hooper and Maddie Snider all score over 7.0 points per game. Ellie Folan and Erin Risner are the two Crusaders to average double figures in scoring.
