Women's Basketball Travels to MSJ for Final Non-Conference Contest of Season

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team concludes the 2017 calendar year with a 1 p.m. contest at Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ) on Saturday, Dec. 30.

The Teams: Wilmington and MSJ. The Fightin' Quakers are 6-4 overall with all four losses coming to either nationally-ranked teams or teams receiving votes in the d3hoops.com Top 25 poll. Wilmington most recently fell to the University of Chicago 71-55 in the championship of the 2017 Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament on Dec. 21. The Lions are 7-3 overall and on a three-game winning streak.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 28th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 450 career victories. Dan Benjamin is in his sixth season with the MSJ women's basketball program including his fourth as year coach.

The Players: Mackenzie Campbell and McKayla Binkley are the two Quakers to average double figures in scoring as the Cincinnati, Ohio, native averages 14.0 points per game and the Lynchburg, Ohio, native averages 10.2 points per game. Emily Harman and Campbell combined for 13 rebounds per contest while Campbell, Binkley and Savannah Hooper all dish out nearly three assists per game. Lainee Studer is second on MSJ's squad in scoring at 13.7 points per game while also leading the team in rebounding at 6.6 boards per contest. Maddy Haberthy leads the Lion's offensive efforts to the tune of 15.4 points per contest.
