WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play when the Fightin' Quakers travel to Heidelberg University for a 3 p.m. contest on Saturday.
The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Quakers are 4-2 overall and an even 1-1 in the OAC after a 65-44 loss at the hands of No. 15 Ohio Northern University at Hermann Court on Wednesday evening. The Student Princes are 3-4 overall and 1-1 in conference after a 10-point loss at Otterbein University last Saturday.
The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 28th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 450 career victories. Morgan Herrigan, a 2009 Heidelberg alumnae, is in her fifth season as head coach. She is also Heidelberg's Senior Woman Administrator.
The Players: Wilmington has two players that average double figures in scoring in Mackenzie Campbell (11.8 points per game) and Savannah Hooper (10.0 points per game). Emily Harman, who turned in a double-double in the Quakers' loss to Ohio Northern, grabs a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game. Campbell, also one of the top rebounders at 5.7 boards per contest, Hooper and McKayla Binkley all dish out over two assists per game. A trio of Student Princes, Alyssa Riley, Brittanie Ulmer and Madelyn Crawford, all score in double figures and combine to score 33.8 points per contest.
