Women's Basketball Hosting Ohio Northern on Wednesday Evening

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team hosts Ohio Northern University (ONU) for a 7:30 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Hermann Court on Wednesday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Ohio Northern. The Fightin' Quakers are 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the OAC after opening conference play with a 75-67 victory over the University of Mount Union on Saturday. The Polar Bears, ranked No. 15 in the most recent d3hoops.com Top 25 poll, are 5-1 this year and opened OAC competition with a 64-38 win vs. Capital University.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 28th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 450 career victories. Michele Durand has been the head women's basketball coach at Ohio Northern since the 2001-02 season. She led the Polar Bears to OAC regular season and tournament championships last year to go along with a 30-1 record.

The Players: Wilmington features a balanced scoring attack as three players average double figures in scoring. Mackenzie Campbell (12.2 points per game), Savannah Hooper (10.8 points per game) and McKayla Binkley (10.2 points per game) combine to score 43 percent of the Quakers' offense. Emily Harman and Campbell both grab over five rebounds per contest while Savannah Hooper and Campbell both dish out three assists per game. Amy Bullimore is the Polar Bears top offensive threat has she averages 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest.

Rematch of 2017 OAC Tournament Final: Wilmington and Ohio Northern met in the OAC Tournament championship game last season. The Polar Bears, ranked No. 5 at the time, defeated the Quakers 70-55.

Recent History: Wilmington is 8-18 against ONU since the 2006-07 season. The Polar Bears have won the last eight meetings including a 62-61 overtime win at Hermann Court last year.
