Wilmington drops a game to Thomas More 88-57

Crestview Hills, KY - Wilmington dropped the championship game to host Thomas More College 88-57. After the game was completed it was announced that junior Mackenzie Campbell (Cincinnati, OH Turpin) and freshman McKayla Binkley (Lynchburg, OH/ Lynchburg-Clay) were named to the All-Tournament team.

Cambell averaged 15 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and Binkley averaged 9.5 points per game.

Stat Leaders 

Cambell finished the game with eight points and six rebounds.

Binkley was the scoring leader for the Quakers with 11 points.

Sophomore Kelly Noll (Milford, OH/ Milford) and freshman Maddie Snider (Stoutsville, OH/ Amanda Clearcreek) added nine and eight points respectively.

1st Half Synopsis

Thomas More started off hot and went on an 8-0 run when the game resumed in the 1st quarter.  They led the game 18-4 with 3:32 left in the first quarter. Wilmington struggled to recover from that deficit in the first half as Thomas More increased it's lead to 38-18.  Thomas More shot 39.3% from the field in the first while Wilmington struggled to get anything going offensively only shooting 23.3%.

2nd Half Synopsis

Wilmington's offense started to come alive in the second going point for point with Thomas More.  The Quakers shot a staggering 8-12 from the field in the third quarter totaling 18 points.  Not to be outdone by the Quakers, Thomas More added 22 points to their first-half total shooting 10-16 from the field.  On this day Thomas More won the turnover battle only committing six turnovers to Wilmington's 14. Thomas More also topped Wilmington in the assist category 19 to Wilmington's eight.  The final score at the end of the fourth quarter was 88-57.
