Fightin’ Quakers shut down Mary Baldwin- Tip-Off Tournament

WILMINGTON, Ohio-- The Wilmington College women's basketball team opened the season Friday evening in game one of the Damon's/Hampton Inn Tip-Off Tournament. Powered by a strong offense, the Fightin' Quakers coasted to victory over Mary Baldwin University, the final score reading 91-62.



  • Led by young, offensive talent, four Fightin' Quakers were able to tally point totals in the double digits. Freshman McKayla Binkley (Lynchburg, OH/Lynchburg-Clay) led the charge, scoring 15 points, while fellow freshmen Maddie Snider (Stoutsville, OH/Amanda Clearcreek) and Faith Teaford (Portland, OH/Southern), and senior Emily Harman (Versailles, OH/Versailles) all accumulated 10 points.

  • The Fightin' Quakers ended the game shooting 32-for-72 for 44.4 percent from the field. They also knocked down four triples, doing so on the same 44.4% average.

  • Wilmington College out-rebounded Mary Baldwin, 23-49. Sophomore Mackenzie Campbell (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) led the rebounding effort with seven boards. Snider and freshmen Hannah Rickman (Pickerington, OH/North) and Julia Kopp (Pickerington, OH/North) followed closely, collecting six.

  • Mary Baldwin put on the pressure defensively, ultimately causing 21 turnovers from the Fightin' Quakers.



  • The Fightin' Quakers take on Spalding University in the Tip-Off Tournament championship game tomorrow at 3 PM.

  • The Tournament's consolation game will take place just before, at 1 PM, between Wittenberg University and Mary Baldwin University.
