Ranked ONU too much for @DubC_LQB

ADA – The Wilmington College women's basketball team went on a nearly seven minute drought to open the second half enabling #18 Ohio Northern to take control of the game, and the Fightin' Quakers fell 78-51 Wednesday at the ONU Sports Center.

A two-point halftime deficit ballooned to 14 points as Ohio Northern scored the first 12 points of the half. By the end of the 10-minute session, Wilmington trailed by 13 points and couldn't get its deficit to under double figures.

Ohio Northern shot 52.9 percent from the three-point range and 47.8 percent from the field, while Wilmington managed to shoot 32.3 percent from the field.

Senior Brittaney Jefferson (Dayton, OH/Chaminade Julienne), sophomore Mackenzie Campbell (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) and freshman Morgan Ritz (Seymour, IN/Seymour) all tallied nine points each to lead Wilmington. It was a career-high mark for Ritz in a career-best 11 minutes.

Senior Mary Moyer (Martinsville, OH/Clinton Massie) led the team with eight rebounds, while junior Emily Harman (Versailles, OH/Versailles) added seven boards – six offensive.

Wilmington (4-2 overall, 1-1 OAC), with both losses to ranked teams, returns home 3 p.m. Saturday to host Heidelberg.
