WOMEN'S PREVIEW: Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets

The Wilmington College women's basketball team will look to take a winning streak into the winter holidays when the Fightin' Quakers host Baldwin Wallace 3 p.m. Saturday at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.

"Baldwin Wallace is always a quality basketball team," said Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve. "They won the regular season title last year, and they have most of those kids back. They are deep and play a lot of people, which makes it hard to focus on one player in particular."

Junior guard Sydney Clark is the top scorer for the Yellow Jackets with 12.8 points per game. Her 94 shots are almost twice as many as the closest teammate, junior Clara Lemmon, who is attempting 52 shots.

Clark is shooting 41.5 percent (39-of-94) from the field and almost a third of her shot attempts are coming from beyond the arc.

"Clark is very versatile," said Scheve. "She can play inside and outside, and gave us a lot of trouble last year. She does a little bit of every thing. She gets to the basket extremely well, and is very good off the dribble."

Junior guard Mackenzie Columbo is second on the team with 8.8 points and leads the team with 3.8 assists. Her 36 free throw attempts are a team high. Forward Clara Lemmon leads the team with 7.1 rebounds, and is third on the team with 7.8 points.
