Early in the season, the Wilmington College women's basketball is showing its balance offensively, and it was on full display again Friday.

Five different players scored in double figures as the Fightin' Quakers upended Penn State-Behrend, 82-67, in the opening game of the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament, sponsored by Austin's Casual Eatery and Hampton Inn, at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.

"You have to give credit to Penn State-Behrend, they played well and made it difficult for us to pull away," said Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve. "I was pleased with how we came out in the second half. We realized we were hitting our outside shots and we pounded it inside. We got on the offensive boards and it helped us build a comfortable lead."

Post players - sophomore Mary Moyer (Martinsville, OH/Clinton-Massie), senior Kirsten Glick (Arcadia, OH/Arcadia) and freshman Emily Smith (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) – combined for half of Wilmington's 82 points.

Moyer scored her Wilmington career-high with 18 points on 9-of-16 shooting with four rebounds, two steals, two assists and one block. She was the catalyst, scoring back-to-back baskets, as Wilmington tallied the final 10 points of the first half. Smith added a career-best 12 points, while Glick added 11 points.

"Our inside game has really developed from the preseason to the second week of the season," said Scheve. "We were unsure what we had (in the post) because none of the players had extensive experience. They have all stepped up and are playing real well."

Sophomore Brittaney Jefferson (Dayton, OH/Chaminade Julienne) added 11 points with a team-high six rebounds, four steals and two assists. Senior Courtney Tucker (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) rounded out the quintet with 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Wilmington (3-0) hosts Ohio Wesleyan 3 p.m. tomorrow in the championship game, while Behrend will play Alma 1 p.m. in the consolation game.
