Hooper and Bowles Named Honorable Mention All-OAC

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Wilmington College softball senior Savannah Hooper and sophomore KenDahl Bowles represented the Fightin' Quaker contingent on the All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Softball teams announced by the conference on Monday.

Hooper, who is earning All-OAC recognition for the third consecutive season, finished her senior season batting a .344 clip with 31 hits, 22 runs scored and 13 stolen bases leading off and playing primarily left field for the Fightin' Quakers. She leaves the program as its career leader in batting average (.381).

"Savannah [Hooper] has had an outstanding career in our softball program," Head Coach Beth Floyd said. "She is one of the hardest working most coachable players I've ever had the honor of working with. She's had such a tremendous and inspiring impact on our softball program as great teammate a great leader and wonderful person."

Bowles started in all but one game at third base for Wilmington hitting .229 with 12 RBIs and six walks. One of the best defensive infielders in the OAC, Bowles had a .951 fielding percentage with 44 putouts, 53 assists and just five errors.

"KenDahl is one of the best defensive of players not only in the OAC, but also across NCAA Division III softball," said Floyd. "Her hard work, commitment and positive attitude has allowed her to grow and develop into a wonderful softball player. She's a great teammate on the field and off the field."

Wilmington finished its 2018 season with a 13-21 overall record as well as a 4-12 mark and a ninth place finish in the OAC.
