Blubaugh leads men's Cross Country

FRANKLIN, IN – The Wilmington College men's cross country team finished fourth of seven teams at the Sodexo Classic on the campus of Franklin College.

Spalding won the event with 42 points, followed by Vincennes (44), Franklin (89), Wilmington (92), Earlham (101), Thomas More (156) and Transylvania (207).

"The men ran well today," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. "I am happy with the guys. We have a good pack of runners with a little more depth (than last year)."

Senior Scott Blubaugh (Kingston, OH/Logan Elm) led the Fightin' Quakers, placing 13th with the time of 28:08.53.

A pack of WC harriers rounded out the scoring, finishing 18th, 19th, 20th, and 22nd, respectively. Senior Jake Simpkins (Germantown, OH/Valley View) finished with a time of 28:30.67, sophomore Tommy Looby (Canton, OH/Glen Oak) posted a time of 28:36.65, freshman Hunter Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia) and freshman Cameron Erwin (South Vienna, OH/Northeastern) rounded out the scoring with a time of 29:04.45.

Wilmington returns to the course Friday, competing in the Queen City Invitational at Kingswood Park in Mason.
