Men's Track & Field Has Six Top Eight Finishes at Jessica Starks Open

BEXLEY, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's track & field team recorded six top-eight finishes at the Jessica Starks Open hosted by Capital University on Saturday.

The Fightin' Quakers put two top-eight competitors in the 1,000-meter run in Josh Cyrus and Evan Brandon. Cyrus placed fifth with a time of 2:58.23 while Brandon placed seven with a time of 2:28.69. Adam Knaub was the other individual to record high finish, placing sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.28 seconds.

Wilmington had three relays score points include two teams in the distance medley relay. The Quaker team of Evan Whitaker, Elorm Dogbey, Taton Bertsch and Cameron Phelps finished second in the event (11:39.15) while Cyrus, Sam Foote, Ben Bales and Brandon placed fifth (13:04.97). Wilmington's team in the 4-x-400-meter relay, Knaub, Bertsch, Elliot Phillimore and Aaron Koch, took fifth (3:37.38).

As a team, Wilmington finished 10th out of 18 teams. The Quakers will return to action at the Cedarville Invitational next weekend.
